YOKOGAWA Launches ASI133-H00/SA3S0 Advanced Sensor for Harsh Industrial Environments

Tokyo, Japan – November 7, 2023 – YOKOGAWA Electric Corporation, a pioneer in industrial automation and measurement technologies, has introduced the ASI133-H00/SA3S0, a next-generation intelligent sensor designed to deliver unparalleled reliability in extreme operational conditions. Targeting sectors such as oil and gas, chemical processing, and power generation, the device promises to revolutionize real-time monitoring and predictive maintenance in mission-critical applications.

The ASI133-H00/SA3S0 integrates YOKOGAWA’s proprietary DualSense™ technology, combining high-pressure tolerance with immunity to electromagnetic interference (EMI) and corrosive media. Its ruggedized housing meets IP68/IP69K standards, ensuring functionality in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 85°C (-40°F to 185°F). The sensor also features built-in self-diagnostic capabilities and wireless connectivity via ISA100 or Wi-Fi 6E, enabling seamless integration into IoT-driven industrial networks.

“With the ASI133-H00/SA3S0, we’re addressing the growing demand for sensors that thrive where others fail,” said Mr. Hiroshi Tanaka, YOKOGAWA’s Vice President of Industrial Automation. “This innovation not only enhances operational safety but also reduces unplanned downtime by up to 30% through predictive analytics powered by our [i³] Platform.”

Key applications include:

  • Pipeline integrity monitoring for detecting leaks and pressure anomalies.
  • Turbine health assessment in power plants to optimize maintenance schedules.
  • Chemical reactor safety through real-time temperature and viscosity tracking.

The sensor’s modular design allows rapid field calibration, while its extended 10-year battery life minimizes lifecycle costs. Early adopters, such as a leading LNG facility in Norway, reported a 25% improvement in data accuracy during pilot testing compared to legacy systems.

Slated for global release in Q1 2024, the ASI133-H00/SA3S0 will be showcased at the 2023 Hannover Messe Industrial Fair. Customizable configurations, including explosion-proof variants (ATEX/IECEx certified), are available for hazardous zone deployments.
